MANY DIVORCE CASES DOWN FOR HEARING.

(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, May 22. A lengthy list of divorce cases will be dealt with by Justices MacGregor and Blair in the Supreme Court on Thursday. In sixty-seven petitions for dissolution of marriages mutual separation is named as the ground in eighteen cases; desertion, 17; non-compliance with an order for the restitution of conjugal rights, 11; adultery, 10; existence of a separation order, 8, deeds of separation, 2: and allegation of habitual drunkenness, 1 case. There are also ten petitions for the restitution of conjugal rights. In the divorce cases the wife is the petitioner in 40 instances, and the husband in 27. In the restitution cases the husband is'the petitioner in eight out of the ten cases.
