WORK OF THE ASSISTANTS, The Poppy Day Committee has forwarded the following detailed account of the amounts taken at the different stands in the city on April 20:—Post Office (Mrs H. T. J. Mrs Thacker was assisted at the Bank of New Zealand by Mrs Benzies and Mrs Hoffman, also by Airs Hayward at the Exchange Buildings Corner. Other helpers were Sister M’Murtrie, Mesdames Williams, Empson, Danbier, Martin, Taylor, Miss Osborn. Members of the different Free Kindergarten Committee, also twelve students, at liberty to assist at the various stands. Morning and afternoon tea was served at the Jellicoe Hall, the arrangements for which were in the hands of Mrs J. S. Neville, who was assisted by Mrs Cowper and Airs Alacdonald. They were very grateful for the generous donation of cakes and sandwiches. As in other years Mrs H. T. J. Thacker supervised and directed all the arrangements which made the day such a success. She was assisted by Airs J. R. Evans, who with Mrs A. Peverill, Mrs H. Stringer, Mrs Hayden, Aliases Orchard and Moore was responsible for the distribution of the poppies and counting the money.
