The Riccarton Borough Council will probably ask for a commission on the construction of Riccarton Road, as it is dissatisfied with the attitude of the Main Highways Board, said the Mayor of Riccarton (Mr H. Manhire), yesterday. Mr Manhire said that the reason for the failure of the Borough Council representatives to attend a conference with the Christchurch City Council and the Christchurch Tramway Board on the subject of re-forming of Riccarton Avenue was that the Riccarton Council was holding a special meeting on Monday evening to discuss the whole question of Riccarton Road.
