At a meeting of the Papanui Progress League Mr E. H. S. Hamilton. a member of the Drainage Board, gate some interesting figures on the progress of the new sewerage scheme in the suburbs. He said the total amount of mileage to be laid was 150, and of that 108 miles had been laid and three and a half years had passed since the commencement of \he work. Seven pumping stations had been installed and three were in the course of construction, and nine more would need to be built. A new septic tank had been built at the drainage farm capable of holding two million gallons of effluent. The extent of the farm was 556 acres and soon 219 would be irrigated. The total amount spent was £718.127, and there was no doubt that the rate originally promised of one penny halfpenny would not be exceeded. SHIRT DISTINCTION. A man’s shirt is becoming more and more a means of expressing his personal taste. Just the reason why so many men insist on Glostas. Not only does the Glosta excel in smartness, but it fits perfectly, and gives unusually long wear. Ask for a Glosta, the shirt that is faultless in fabric, finish and fit. 632 C
