MANY FIRMS WILL JOIN IN JUBILEE DAY PROCESSION.

FINAL ARRANGEMENTS MADE BY COMMITTEE. Final preparations in connection with the Diamond Jubilee procession have now been completed. The procession, it was reported at yesterday afternoon's meeting of the Decoration and Procession Committee, will be divided into sections, each under a marshal, who will see* that proper distances are maintained. Captain J. W. Crampton will be in charge as chief marshal.

The procession will form up on the south side of Moorhouse Avenue, facing -west. When the procession starts at 1.30 p.m., the head will wheel round so that those taking part in the procession may see it. The procession will turn into Colombo Street and proceed northward, through the Square to 'Gloucester Street. It will turn in a westerly direction down Gloucester Street to and along Oxford Terrace, over Armagh Street, round Victoria Square to Armagh Street. It will turn into Manchester Street and march to High Street, along Ferry Road to Lancaster Park, where the living chess game will be held. The order of the march will be as follows:

First Section—Municipal Band, Canterbury Pioneers. Chess Club Display, Derry's Band. Military Parade, Fire Brigades (old and new). Second Section—Woolston Tanneries Display, W. D. and 11. O. Wills Display, Cambrian Society, Sanitarium Health Food Company, National Electrical Company’s Display, Advertising Club, Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association. Third Section--Scottish Society’s Band, Charles Buckett’s Gymnasium Girls, Bakers’ and Pastrycooks’ Display, Vacuum Blue Ladder Company’s Display, Technical College, A. S. Paterson and Co., Rough Riders. Fourth Section—Todd Motors, Maoris in Native Costume, Mr H. G. Ell’s Coaches, Rink Taxis, John Burns, Ltd., Blackwell Motors, Dominion Motors. Fifth Section—New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union, Hope Gibbons Douglas Motor Bicycle, Salvation Army Band, Boy Scouts, A. J. White, Ltd. Sixth Section—Vacuum Oil Company,, P. G. Clemens, Home Economics Association, Nugget Polish Company, Cadbury’s, Ltd., Ancier Order of Druids. Seventh Section—Hayward Brothers, Returned Soldiers’ Association, Caledonian Pipe Band, Canterbury Frozen Meat Company. Christchurch Gas Company, Inglis Brothers, Pioneer Sports Club. Eighth Section—British Imperial Oil Company, Y.W.C.A., Municipal Electricity Department, Archbold Brothers, Woolston Band, Ancient Order of Foresters. Ninth Section—T. J. Edmonds, Canterbury College Students, Cyclone Fence Company, Maddren Brothers, Manx Society, Perfection Ice Cream, Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Tenth Section—Kaiapoi Woollen Company, “Sun” Newspapers, Y.M.C.A., Strange and Co., Cercle Francaise, Hiberians, C. Begg and Co.

Eleventh Section—Lyttelton Marine Band, Lyttelton Display, Navy League, Empire Express Company, M.U., 1.0.0. F., Aulsebrook and Co. Twelfth Section—British Sailors’ Society, Lyttelton, Salvation Army Band, Lyttelton, Kiwi Dairy Company, Hoover’s Display, Jeyes Fuild. The section will be followed by his Wonhip the Mayor of Christchurch,

members of the Christchurch Citv Council, members of Cabinet, members of Parliament, and visiting Mayors. Major D. E. Bremner reported that, as the artillery would be putting on a performance at night, they would not take part in the procession. The infantry would be divided into three sections. The first would be dressed in the uniform of the volunteers and other old forms of dress. The second would be in full modern war kit, with steel helmets and gas masks. The third would be as an ordinary Territorial unit.
