ORGAN RECITAL GIVEN BY DR J. C. BRADSHAW.

Dr J. C. Bradshaw gave the final organ recital of a series at the Anglican Cathedral last evening. There was a very good attendance, who were treated to a very fine programme. Perhaps the best, and certainly one of the most popular items, was Mendelssohn’s Organ Sonata in C minor and major. Other numbers in the well-varied programme were:—“Ave Maria (Ilenselt) ; Introduction and Variations on a Theme by Beethoven (Morkel) ; Woodland Sketches, (a) “To a Wild Rose” and (b) “At an Old Trysting Place” (M’Dowell) ; Concert Fantasia in D minor and major (Sir R. P. Stewart) ; Shepherd’s Lay and Pilgrims’ Chorus from “Tannhauser” (Wagner): Allegretto in E flat (Wolstenholme) ; Toccata from the Organ Symphony, No. 5 (Widor).
