FLAG ENMITY AGAIN RISING IN SOUTH AFRICA.

ANIMOSITY LIKELY TO BE SHOWN ON MAY 31. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright..) (Received Mav 17, 10.25 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, May 16. The hoisting of the new flag on May 31, Union Day, is giving occasion for unpleasant episodes in the. country towns, in which arrangements are being undertaken by local Nationalists, who have invited extreme Nationalists to speak. The Mayors of Paarl and Graaffreinet refuse to participate. The Governor-General hoists the flag at Parliament Buildings, and Ministers will perform the ceremony in Pretoria and other large centres. There is a suspicion that the Union flag will be hoisted on the principal pole, which will arouse animosity.— Australian Press Association.
