The Waimairi County Council recently wrote to the City Council asking that the Westminster Street and Innes Road bridges, Shirley, should be widened. and stating that it was prepared to contribute towards the cost thereof. The bridges referred to are both situated just beyond the city boundary, and the City Council decided at its meeting last night that the County Council be informed that the City Council is not prepared to bear any proportion of the cost of the proposed work.
