CATHEDRA!, SQUARE, CHRISTCHURCH. rpHE Board of Health lias received from the Christchurch City Council an application for a requisition under Section 22 of the Health Act, 1920, requiring the City Council to provide in Cathedral Square additional sanitary conveniences for the use of the public. Section 24 of the Act provides that money for works so required may be raised without a poll of the ratepayers. The Board of Health has appointed its Chairman (the Hon J. A. Young, Minister of Health), Lady Luke, of Wellington, and Dr W. Irving, of Christchurch, a committee to inquire Into the application and report thereon to the board. The public are hereby notified that the committee will sit in Christchurch for the purpose of hearing evidence, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2. 1925, In the Ministerial Rooms, Government Buildings, Worcester Street. The committee desires evidence from all persons wishing to state their views on the question, but would prefer to hear representative organisations rather than Individuals.
