AIM TO SAVE GIRLS FROM WHITE SLAVERS. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, April 29. In order to protect young girls from alleged white slavers masquerading as theatrical managers, the Actors' Federation has drafted two Bills for submission to Parliament. One proposes that white slavers, when convicted, should be punished with a fine of £2OO or a year’s gaol. The other proposes that all theatrical employers should be registered, and that their books should be open to public inspection.—Australian Press Association.
