Wi*th football, tennis, golf, motor cycling, and whippet racing in full swing, . fine weather to cap all, the Square was practically deserted this afternoon. An occasional pedestrian, with a caution bora of a Z3st of selfpreTervaticn, picked his or her way
across the Square among the motorcars and trams which whisked passengers away to the svpcrts grounds, the hill?, and the beaches. The lungs of the city, and not the heart, were where the movement was. The gentleman near th*o newsboy has just left his favourite icc-cream parlour.
