COMMISSION TO HEAR EVIDENCE NEXT WEEK.

“ We are anxious to hear all the evidence available on the question,” said the Hon J. A. Young, Minister of Health, this morning, in referring to the commission appointed by the Board of Health to inquire into the application of the Christchurch City Council for authority to carry out certain improvements in the central portion of Cathedral Square without taking a poll of the ratepayers.

The commission will consist of the Minister of Health, Lady Luke, of Wellington. and Dr William Irving, of Christchurch. It will sit for the purpose of taking evidence on Wednesday next. The Minister will be chairman of the commission.
