COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

Recently an enjoyable evening was held at Dixieland when Mr and Mfs J. R. Evans, of 118 Oliivier’s Roady Linwood, celebrated the coming of age Of their only son, Roy Arthur." The evening was spent in games, dancing and competitions, the winners being Miss Werren and Mr M’Leod, Miss Gracie and Mr Lang, Miss Bain and Mr Ferguson, Miss Tapper and Mr Glendinning, Miss Taylor and Mr M’Millan, and Mr and Mrs Watts. Songs were given by Miss Thelma Ayers (Rangiora) and Mr Jack Hannah; musical monologues, Miss Kinsella; card tricks, Mr P. Barnard; an exhibition dance, Mr W. Bain. A dainty supper was served, the usual toasts being honoured. The guest of honour was presented wth a gold key by his father. Mr L. E. Vernazoni was M.C. Mr W. East’s orchestra supplied the music.
