UNITED BURGESSES’ COUNCIL MEETS.

The council of the United Burgesses’ Associations met on Tuesday Evening, Mr R. K. Todhunter presiding. It was decided, in view of the reported activities of a committee of business men regarding a central art gallery site, that consideration of the matter be deferred in the meantime. The Tramway Committee reported that, with regard to the speed of the trams, it was recommended that, as further information was sought, the matter be left over for further consideration. The reply of the Tramway Board with regard to free passes showed that, many passes were issued for which there seemed to be no justification. It was recommended that this matter be further investigated. The report was adopted.
