Dr and Mrs 11. S. Kendrick, of Otago, returned from Australia on Tuesday by the Marama.
Major-General J. Macfarlane Sloan, of Poona, India, and Mrs Sloan, arrived on the Marama. They are going io Taupo. Mr J. A. Cahill, secretary of the Auckland Commercial Travellers’ Club, and Mrs Cahill, who have been on a holiday visit to Australia, returned on the Marama.
Mr J. O’Driscoll, formerly owner of Waiwera, and many other good: racehorses, has returned from a Holiday in Sydney and Brisbane.
The Rev M. Pavlinovitch, a Dalmatian Roman Catholic priest, arrived at Auckland on the Marama He is to work among his own people in the Auckland diocese.
Mrs Lena Eliza Lindsay, fifty-two, committed suicide yesterday at her home at Belmont, Devonport, Auckland. She was found dead with a gas tube near her head, states a Press Av sociation telegram.
