GREYMOUTH BAR AT PRESENT UNWORKABLE.

(Special to the “Star.”) GREYMOUTH, April 17. The steamers Kaimai, Kalingo, Parera, Regulus, Alexander and Putiki are in the roadstead awaiting a favourable opportunity to enter the port. The weather has moderated, and, though there is still a considerable sea on the bar, it is hoped that conditions will permit working the bar to-morrow morning. The depth on the bar, gauged at high water yesterday, was fifteen feet three inches, the improvement being due to the spring tides. The rain of yesterday created a moderate run in the river. Owing to the condition of the bar causing delay to shipping, the Liverpool Mine will not be working to-mor-row.
