STAGE EMPLOYEES GAIN NEW AWARD.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 17. The Dominion stage employees award has been filed. First mechanists (touring) receive £7 17s 6d per week, and first mechanists (resident, permanent) receive £6 2s 6d; first property men (touring), £7 7s 6d, (resident permanent) £5 12s 6d; first electrician (touring) £7 7s 6d; wardrobe master (touring) £5 17s 6d, (resident permanent) £4 12s 6d; wardrobe mistress, £5 17s 6d; stage door keeper (resident, permanent) £4 2s 6d; stage hands (resident, permanent) £4 7s 6d. These are minimum salaries for the grades mentioned, and other grades and casual hands are provided for. The award provides for payment of overtime for hours in excess of forty-eight weekly worked by touring employees, and specifies daily hours for other workers and casual labour at rehearsals.
