VALEDICTORY.

MRS P. E. CLEARY HONOURED. An enjoyable day- was spent at the Harewood golf links yesterday, when a number of the lady members of the club assembled to bid farewell to Mrs P. E. Cleary, who is leaving Christchurch shortly to reside in Hamilton. A bogey match was played in the morning, which resulted in a win for Miss Joan Johnston in the seniors, Mrs T. Wallace in the juniors and Mrs R. Crozier in the non-handicap competition. During the serving of lunch. Mrs S. W. Binns, club captain, presented Mrs Cleary with a handsome antique copper bowl in appreciation of the work she had done during last season, when she was captain of the club, and for her help and generous response in all work connected with the club. Kirs Cleary briefly responded. Those present included:—Mesdames P. E. Cleary, S. W. Binns, A. R. Blank, Watts-Ryan, N. H. Skinner, C. Smith, H. IT. Wauchop, E. Clarke, Page, 11. Taylor, D. Redpath, Gladstone Ward, T. Armstrong, Shirley Wright, Wilkin. M. Allen, E. W. Bevan, R. Crozier, T. Bell, A. Fisher, J. Smith-Wilson, David Crozier, T. Wallace, Mawsen Stew’art, J. Templin, F. Wooller and Maurice Gresson, Klisses Betty Kiver, Esme Lamb, N. Williams, D. Hepburn, Joan Johnston, Mary Ward, Doreen Kiver, M. Kincaid, J. Mitchill, Nell Buddo, Taylor, D. Mitchell, Gwen Taylor, and J. Tench.
