Police Search Sydney Harbour For Bodies of Man and Woman
SAID TO HAVE BEEN DROWNED WHEN MOTORCAR TOOK PLUNGE INTO 17 FEET OF WATER. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received April 18, 9.20 a.in.) SYDNEY. April 18. A LARGE motor-car plunged into the harbour early this morning. H. Reynolds, of Manly, who was rescued, made conflicting statements, indicating that a man and a ■woman, who were passengers, sank with the car in seventeen feet of water, but the police have been unable to trace the bodies, although the headlights of the car remained alight a long time after sinking, lighting up the water and the harbour bed. The search is continuing. Reynolds is in a had way.—Australian Press Association.
