POLO TOURNEY CONTINUED TO-DAY
PAREORA V. WAIRARAPA IN SAVILE CUP MATCH.
Commenced yesterday, the New Zealand Polo tournament was continued this afternoon, when at the polo ground, Hagley Park, Pareora met Wairarapa in the first round of the Savile Cup match. The winning team will meet in the final, Christchurch A, who accounted for Hawke’s Bay yesterday. Although neither Wairarapa nor the Pareora team is as strong as Christchurch A and Hawke s Bay, both are capable of extending any side tn the Dominion. As the combined aggregate handicap of the Pareora team is 23, and that of Wairarapa only 19, the South Canterbury team were favourites for to-day’s contest. Following the big match, a junior cup first round match was played between Banks Peninsula and Christchurch B. The winnii g team which in all probability will be Christchurch B, will meet Feilding in the final. Savile Cup Match. The teams for the otvilc Cup match were:— Pareora (green)—A. E. El worthy (4), C. H. Orbell (3_>, 11. Llworthy (2) and W. H. Orbell (1). Wairarapa (red)—D. 11. S. Riddiford (4), G. H. G. Hewitt (3.*, D. C. Collins (2), H. Martin (I).
