TENNIS PARTY.
A delightful afternoon was spent at the Cashmere tennis courts yesterday, when the committee members of the Cashmere Club arranged a tennis tournament in honour of Miss Nell Witte, whose marriage will take place early next month. Many well contested games were played and enjoyed. During the afternoon Mr Inwood on behalf of the players presented Miss Witte with a handsome black fruit bowl inlaid with enamel and pewter, wishing her every’ happiness in her new home. Miss Witte suitably responded.
The players included:—Mrs F. W. Freeman. Mrs Tla worth, Mrs Peppier, Mrs Morrison, Mrs 11. T. Lawry, Mrs C. Charters, Misses Witte (3), Mrs R. Morgan, Mrs L. Dougall, Mrs A. Derbidge, Mrs Parsonson, Miss M’Millan, Mrs George Hall, Mrs M. Everest, Miss Mollie Waller, Mrs M’Leod. Mrs Alexander, Mrs Gunn, Miss Nancy Wilson, Miss Eileen Berrow, Mrs Lewis, Miss Rita Smith. Miss Bishop, Mrs Manson, Miss Jill Carrick; Messrs Inwood, 11. Murray and R. Lainge.
