The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted unanimously in favour of continuing the marine occupation of Nicaragua, in opposition to a resolution by Mr Heflin to withdraw the forces. Senator Borah said: “Speaking for myself, I want to see us get out of Nicaragua, and stay out, but I know no way to do so decently with justice to all parties, except to hold that election.” —Aust. and N.Z.
