ATTEMPT TO COMMIT SUICIDE ADMITTED.

(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLA.ND, March 8. Jeffrey Cope, a middle-aged man, who was rescued by the crew of the ferry steamer, Makora yesterday, admitted at the Court to-day that he had attempted to commit suicide. He was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon. Cope jumped off the ferry steamer yesterday morning. On being rescued and brought back to the steamer, he struggled and kicked, and tried to jump back into the water. He was eventually carried into a cabin with his feet tied, and his hands bound behind his back.
