WHIPPET RACING HELD AT HOKITIKA.
(Special to the ‘‘Star.”) HOKITTKA, February 18. There was a fair attendance last evening at Cass Square to witness the whippet racing. Results were:— First Race—First heat: Prince Lou 1, Comedy Lad 2. Second heat: Captain Corned* 1. Mis Argylle 2. Third heat: Linden Lou 1, Laughing Eyes 2. Final. Linden Lou 1 Captain Comedy 2 Second Race—Ouimet 1, Linden Lou 2. Third Race—Bingo Boy 1, Ouimet 2. Hurdles—First heat: Betty 1, Tinker Toy 2. Second heat: Miss Argylle 1, Linden Lou 2. Failing light prevented the hurdles from completed.
