MAN LEAVES GAOL TO DENY THAT HE STOLE GELDING. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 10. John Sullivan, alia£ Joseph O’Keefe, aged forty-eight, at present serving seven years’ imprisonment for manslaughter, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial this morning for an eighteen-year-old crime. He pleaded not guilty to stealing, at Kinahoku. in January, 1910, a black gelding and harness, of a total value of £lO ss. It was alleged that accused hired the horse to attend a Court case at Kawhia and that he later sold the animal, the owner seeing no more of Sullivan until he identified him in Court to-day.
