At the monthly meeting of the Shirley School Committee the following members were present:—Messrs Thompson (chairman), Stanley, Hunt, Salt, Finney.- Burson, Clothier, Anderson, and Mrs M’Kay. The head master reported that the roll number now stood at 660. Sixty-six pupils had left and 57 had been admitted. It was decided to write to the Education Board for a grant towards a well for providing water for school use. The Visiting Committee appointed for the month were Messrs Finney and Salt.
