The champion boxing heavyweight has much grey matter in his bean. He's for a fight content to wait till he can grab a bonus great —a shrewd financial bird is Gene. Tex Rickard tried to make a plan to corner gold in U.S.A., elimination tests that can discover the most likely man to take Gene Tunney's crown away. But in the ’midst of this affair once more did Tunney come to light: “Shall I still see my cupboard bare, till you a match for me prepare —no good to me ! I want a fight! And don’t pick Ileeney from N.Z., or if you do I’ll go on strike; that fellow would knock off my head, but Sharkey I’d prefer instead —his boxing’s much more ladylike.”
