EAGERLY AWAITED MUSICAL COMEDY COMING SOON.
From time to time during the past four years playgoers of New Zealand have been reading and hearing of the triumphs of “ Rose Marie,” which J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will present here at the Theatre Royal for an extended season, commencing on Monday, February 20. " Rose Marie ” ran for four consecutive seasons in London, and in Sydney it attracted record audiences tor over eight months. It then had to be withdrawn only because its run upset all the other attractions of J. C Williamson, Ltd. " Rose Marie ” also broke all known records in Adelaide, where the previous longest run of a play was three weeks (" The Maid of the Mountains”). “Rose Marie” surpasses in beautiful music, splendour, in the construction of its stor}% and in original features. The world-famous “ Totem Pole Dance ” would undoubtedly assure the success of any play, but that is only one of the specialities. It is by far the costliest production yet sent to New Zealand, there being over 100 people in the presentation. The J. C. W illiamson. Ltd. management announce that preferential box plans for the whole of the approaching season were opened at The Bristol this morning at nine o’clock.
