February 3 The Berlin correspondent of “ The Times ” states that a resident police detachment of the Reichswehr has formed a cordon round a wood >n Coburg. in which an armed criminal named Hein has taken refuge. Hein is suspected of robberies and four murders. A police sergeant, who jumped off his bicy'cle and attempted to arrest him. was shot through the head, and Hein rode off on the bicycle. A second police officer overtook him and Hein took ambush in a ditch, exchanging a fusilade until his ammunition was exhausted. Hein, who was thought to be wounded. escaped. He and an accomplice raided the Post Office at Ohiigs at < ’hristmas and shot two officials. His accomplice, Larm, was arrested. Hein afterwards shot two policemen who were trying to arrest him. One was fatally wounded.
