“LACOSTE, LOOK OUT!”

BY SINBAD. Once more the Davis Cup draws near, and Britain, Spain and U.S.A. are ready with a joyful cheer to fling themselves into the fray. The Dutchmen have ambitions high. “Shall France this year unchallenged go?” the Cubans and Ilawaiians cry, and Japs and Germans answer, “No.” Lacoste may be without a peer, Borotra bold and Cochet quick, but every nation, it is clear, sets out a likely team to pick. And so it fitting is and right, in this pursuit of tennis bays, that Maoriland should come to light and try to win a little praise. And I for one am confident that if our strongest side we send, some nations will be badly bent before New Zealand’s efforts end.
