HER EXCELLENCY ENTERTAINED.
At the Queen's Club, yesterday afternoon, Mrs Rolleston was hostess at a particularly delightful reception, given in honour of her Excellency, the Lady Alice Fergusson. Mrs Rolleston. who is president of the Queen’s Club, included on her guest list all the members of the club. The lounge was effectively decorated with large bowls of mixed flowers — hydrangeas, gladioli, roses, and goldenyellow “hot pokers”—while exquisite roses and carnations, in varying shades of pink, intermingled with gypsophila, lent colour and fragrance to the bridgeroom, -where tea was served. Her Excellency wore a graceful frock of pale beige georgette with smart touches of navy blue and a navy blue hat. Mrs Rolleston's elegant gown of black brocaded crepe de chine was worn with a fichu of beautiful lace, and a wide black hat, encircled with an ostrich plume. At the central oval table, with her Excellency, sat Mrs Rolleston, Mrs West-Watson. Mrs Joseph Studholme. Lady Rhodes, Mrs John Studholme, his Excellency’s sister, Mrs Baird, Lady Wigram. Mrs Cracroft Wilson, Mrs Deans, Mrs Hugh Acland, Mrs John Stevenson. Mrs Marmaduke Bethell, and Mrs J. Dryden Hall.
