BOARD SUPERINTENDENT REVIEWS OPERATIONS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Januarv 30. Mr R. S. Bain, superintendent for the Pacific Cable Board, arrived from Vancouver last evening, after a tour of the various stations. Mr Bain states that the board is still operating on a profitable basis although the introduction of beam wireless had taken away a certain degree of business. No more extensions to the Pacific cable services were contemplated at present, nor could rates be further reduced. Mr Bain goes on to Wellington for embarkation by the Maunganui for Sydney, his headquarters.
