Cydonia, Dunedin, January 30. Rlmutaka, Napier. January 30. SHIPPING NOTES. Poolta, was to have sailed from Wellington yesterday for Westport, Greymouth, Sydney and Newcastle. Totara is expected at Wellington tomorrow from Westport, via New Plymouth arid Picton. The vessel is to leave Wellington on Saturday night for Timaru and should arrive here on Tuesday to load for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. Gale arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Wanganui via Wellington. She could only obtain two gangs yesterday, and consequently was delayed overnight. The vessel leaves for Dunedin and Timaru to-day. Progress arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Dunedin via Timaru. The vessel loaded and was dispatched for Wellington, Wanganui and New Plymouth last evening. Hertford should complete her unloading of West of England cargo to-day, and is timed to sail for Dunedin this evening. The S.S. and A. Company's liner Athenlc was dispatched from Lyttelton last evening for Wellington. The vessel will complete her loading at the northern port and is timed Fo sail on January 27 at daylight for London via Panama and Southampton. Waipiata loaded here yesterday and sailed last evening for Wellington and Auckland. The vessel is expected to return here from Auckland direct on January 29. Kittawa is due at Wellington to-mor-row from Westport with a load of coal. Matakana was timed to make her departure from Wellington last evening for Glasgow and Liverpool. The intercolonial freighter Karetu is due here to-day from Newcastle with a load of coal. Katoa, from Westport via southern ports, is expected here to-morrow to discharge the balance of her cargo of coal. Waikouaiti is expected here on Wednesday next from Newcastle and Sydney, via Dunedin. On discharging here the

vessel will proceed to Timaru to complete her loading for Sydney. Kahika, from Dunedin via Timaru, is expected here on Tuesday to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. Sussex, at present discharging Calcutta cargo at Lyttelton, is expected to sail to-morrow for Timaru, Dunedin, Bluff, thence to Newcastle, at the latter port she will load coal for Java. On discharging at Java she will proceed to Calcutta. Port Sydney is expected to leave Lyttelton for London to-morrow. The vessel’s cargo ‘ includes a consignment of Kamona, at present discharging cement from Portland, is expected to sail tills evening for Greymouth. Canadian Prospector should sail from Lyttelton this afternoon for Timaru and Dunedin, at which ports she will continue her unloading of Montreal cargo. Kurow completed her unloading of Auckland cargo here yesterday and proceeded last evening for Dunedin and Bluff. Cabled news has been received by the Canadian Government Agency that the Canadian Pioneer arrived at New York on January 13 from Auckland, en route to Boston and Halifax. The vessel left Auckland on December 6. News by cablegram has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Tongariro arrived at Panama on January 12 from Lyttelton, and sailed again on January 13 for London. The vessel left Lyttelton on'December 23. Mr J. B. Dymock has joined the Kamona as second officer, in place of Mr J. Sinclair. Mr S. E. Ross has taken the place of Mr J. M'Gill, sixth engineer of the Sussex. Captain M. T. Holm has taken command of the Progress, in place of Captain H. Hay. The Union Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Manuka was to leave Melbourne last Tuesday for Milford Sound and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Tuesday, and will leave the northern port on Wednesday next for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and Melbourne. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Cydonia, at present discharging Montreal cargo at Auckland, is due at Wellington to-morrow and Lyttelton about Thursday next. Tofua, which left Apia on Friday last, was due at Suva on Tuesday. She was to sail again for Auckland direct, where she is due on Monday. Waipahi leaves Sydney on January 24 for Fiji, and clears Suva for Auckland with a fruit cargo on February 3. Aorangi, from Vancouver, was due at Honolulu on Wednesday, and was to sail on Wednesday evening for Suva, Auckland and Sydney. She is due at Suva on January 26 and at Auckland on January 29. Niagara left Auckland on Tuesday for Suva, Honolulu and Vancouver. She is due at Suva to-day. Makura left Wellington on Tuesday afternoon for Sydney, where she is due to-morrow. Tahiti, from Sydney, via Wellington, Rarotonga and Papeete, is due at San Francisco to-day.
