TASMAN FLIERS WILL RECEIVE SPECIAL WEATHER FORECASTS.
EVERY ASSISTANCE TO BE GIVEN IS ORDER
(Special to'the. “Star.") WELLINGTON. December 29. When it is indicated that all is ready for the Tasman flight, the Director of the Meteorological Office will cable weather prospects direct to the flyers. The reports which are usually sent from here to Sydney meteorological office will be amplified and a forecast will be included. A special effort is being made to get as many reports as possible from vessels crossing the Tasman Sea during the vital period, for it is important that the aviators should not encounter head winds and that visibility when aporoaching New Zealand should be sufficient to enable them to recognise the .portion of the coast first sighted. The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research has - issued instructions that every assistance is to be given the aviators.
