JfOTES OK THE RACIHG. In the Pirongia Hurdles, Highflown was . favourite oarryinig £45 more than Lady Cintra., with Gold Rep next in demand. _ Lady Cintra. led along the bark. Crossing- the top, Highflown van to the front from Lady Cintra, Ring Potoa and Gold Rain, the others having no chance. Highflown (Tricklebank) went on to win by two lengths from Lady Cintra, who beat Gold Rain by three lengths. Gold Rep, Ring Potoa and Kawa were next. For the Hihikiki Handicap Awarere • was most fancied, carryinig £3O more than Flying Juliet, with New Moon next in demand. Entering the straight Awarere was attended by Matinee, New Moon and Flying Juliet. In a good finish Matinee (Goldsboro) got the verdict bv a neck from Awarere, who beat New '• Moon by two and a half lengths. The Author, Flying Juliet, and King Smock followed in that order. In the Cup, Delightment was an early leader and was in front for a long time, being one of a trio, consisting of 3_ King Lu. Desert Glow and Delightment, . to enter the straight almost on terms, u with Gala Day handy. Desert Glow e (Orange) and King Lu then drew out. d the former getting the decision by a head. King Lu beat Gala Day bv half h a length for third place. Papalu, Te ° Kara, Delightment, Phaola, Siaosi, Te Monanui, and Transformer were next. c _ In the Waipa Plate Lord Abbey was first to turn for home from Micrometer. ■’ Taku Tama- and High Tido. Micrometer n then drew out, but Lord Abbey (Foster) ie came again to get the decision bv half a head, with High Tide two lengths away third. Mauriaena, Roman Abbey C- and Thanks were next.
