The club’s action was confirmed by the meeting. The North Island Poultry Associa-

submitted to them, so that a New Zealand standard for Yorkshire and Norwich canaries could be issued. The letter, being covered by Remit 11, was received.

'The New Zealand Utility Poultry Club and the Christchurch Canary Club applied for championships, for their 1928 shows. It was decided to allot them the same championships as were, granted for 1927, on the grounds that, as they did not hold the shows in 1927, they were entitled to the championships from the profits of the 1926 art union. The annual report stated that the association had had a very successful year. despite the fact that the art

union was not in operation. The 1927 show season had been very successful. The Gore and Hokitika Poultry ..Club had re-affili’ated after a lapse of some years. Both had good.entries, and prospects were very favourable for the 192 S shows. Thirtv-twp clubs were affiliated to the association, twenty-three holding shows. Record, entries had been received-by several societies, and in congratulating them,-the council wished to record the fact that the Christchurch Poultry Club- at its Diamond Jubilee Show established a-record for the Dominion, with 3019 entries. The Victory Challenge Shield was competed for at Dunedin, and was won by Mr R. W. Brown, with first, second and third in Old English Game Duckwing Cock Class. The balance-sheet showed that the finances of the association were

sound, the receipts for the' year being' £2SS 18s sd, and the expenditure £76 18s 7d, leaving a credit balance of £-208 19s lOd. The assets were £229 19s lOd, and. the liabilities £l2 12s for chara-. pionships.
