MERIT.
A JOLLY GAME. BEAN'BAGS. This is a jolly game for a party, or for any time when a number of girls and boys are gathered together. It is great fun played at a Guide meeting, but I expect most Guides know it already. Two teams are picked, and both supplied with a dozen bags of beans. Each team forms itself into two lines of players facing one another; then the captain at one end throws the first bag to the person opposite, and on it goes to the person opposite him or her, and so on across and across, the object being to- land it as rapidly as possible in a basket at the further end. The rest of the bags follow in quick succession, though, if a bag be dropped, it must be picked up and continued from the same place, therefore if you hurry too much you may lose, and not win, the game. Two marks are given tc/ the team who wins, and generally there are six contests to complete the game.
