COMING-OF-AGE DANCE.
A very enjovable evening was held recently in the Hasting Street Hall, when Mrs E. K. Boardman entertained a large number of friends to celebrate the coming of age of her youngest son Ernest Batchelor. During the evening games and dancing were indulged in, and items were contributed by Miss J. Sharpe, Mr R. Trewen, Mr F. Bassett’s orchestra, and a trio consisting of Misses Shearsby and Cramp and Mr P. Bmns. The guest of honour was the recipient of many useful presents. About eighty guests were entertained at supper, during which the guest of honour was presented with a gold key tied with a bow of green ribbons. Toasts were proposed by Mr R. Trewen, Mr V. Toomey and Mr Rubenstien, and responded to by the Rev Fathers Timoney and Brown. A very enjoyable evening was brought to a close by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Among the many present were: The Rev Fathers Timoney and Brown, Mesdames Stretch, Sharpe, Miles, Ililsey, Price, Brown, Borrows, Manderson, Horgan, Cecil, Gibbens; Misses M’Donnell, Stretch, Z. Meyer, A. Cecil, Loader (2), Greenlees (2), E. Crosbie, Shearsby, J. Sharpe, Champ.. I. Wilson, M. Wakefield, N. Brown, R. Price, M* Thomas, Boardman (3), Nicholson, M’Clure and many others.
