PRIZES PRESENTED AT RANGI-RURU SCHOOL.
The annual prize-giving- of Miss Gibson’s private school, Bangi-ruru, was held this morning in the Art Gallery, where a. large number of parents and friends assembled.
Miss Gibson, in welcoming the visitors, said she regretted that the break-up could not be held in their school grounds but thanked the parents for their generosity and kindness in attending, and for the loyal support of her teaching staff. Miss Gibson gave a brief outline of the work accomplished during the year and read the yearly report. Archbishop .Tulius, who presented the prizes, spoke to the girls on the meaning of school, and congratulated them on their yearly work and accomplishments. Miss Julius, who was also present, was presented with a bouquet of beautiful yellow roses. Messrs H- G. Wakte and W. N. Seay, on behalf of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, presented the school shield to the captain of the school team and congratulated them on their easy win and the high standard of their play. Following the distribution of the prizes a short musical programme was given by the senior and junior pupils’ singing classes.
