The National Rifle Association has been advised that New South Wales has decided to send a representative team to compete in the next rifle championships at Trentham. The team will number twelve and will be a strong one. It is hoped that a Victorian team will come over.
The Priine Minister has received a silver challenge cup given by Mr G. Loder, president of the Arboricultural Society of Great Britain for the encouragement of cultivation of the native flora of the Dominion. A committee comprising Messrs A. 11. Cockayne, Director of the Fields Division, J. A. Campbell, Director of the Horticultural Division, B. C. Aston, of the Institute of Horticulture, G. W. Wright, of Auckland, A. Hunt, of the Forestry League, and R. F. Callaghan, of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (secretary) will determine what shall be the rules of the competition. It is intended that the competition shall be between the four chief centres, and the questions confronting the committee are how the judging shall be done and how the expenses attaching to the competition shall be met.
