CABARET DANCE.
The cabaret dance which was held at the Winter Garden last evening was a great success, both financially and socially. The organiser, Mrs M. Pren I dergast, had the happy thought that a dance would help to augment the funds of the Lewisham Sisters’ Rest House, , Cashmere Hills, and to this purpose she spared no energy in making the dance a successful and enjoyable funcThe ballroom was gay with balloons and the supper tables looked most artistic with blue delphiniums in crystal vases. A note of gaiety was added by the gaily coloured balloons and paper caps of every* size and shape. These were -distributed among the guests during the evening, and true carnival spirit reigned. The success of the dance was entirely due to Mrs Prendergast and to Burke and Co. for their kindly generosity. A Russian ballet py the pupils of , Miss Bessie Macdonald, with Della , Prisk as solcist, was greatly’ appreci- j ated and received several well-merited j encores. Les Marston’s band supplied the music for the dancing. Among the many present were: Mesdames M. Prendergast. J. S. Neville, j \Y. A. Stead. Cyril Ward, J. Hall, O. A. I B Smith, C. M.
