A hurricane accompanied by rain and hailstones of unusual size caused extensive damage in the Lake Grace District wheat belt and some crops were destroyed. The storm was confined to a narrow area. Farmers in the Kondinin district also suffered. A message from Merredin estimates that the loss to that district was over £30,000.
