PROPOSED LABORATORY FOR CEREAL RESEARCH.
A meeting to consider the proposed establishment of a cereal research laboratory in Canterbury is to be held in Christchurch on Wednesday next. has been convened by Dr E. Marsden, secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and the purposes of the meeting are:—• (1) To set up a Cereal Research Committee of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research for the purpose of controlling a research laboratory and other activities in connection therewith. (2) The consideration of the necessary regulations regarding the administration of the research work, and the collection of levies provided for in the Finance Act of last session. (3) Other matters in connection with the inauguration of the research work.
