GOOD COMPETITION AT WOOL SALES.

At the wool sales 10,183 bales were offered, of which 6092 were Australian end 4017 New Zealand. A miscellaneous selection of merinos was offered, including many second-hand. There was an average offering of greasy crossbreds, mostly speculators’ lots, and •mall offerings of slipes and scoureds. Good competition resulted, and late rates were maintained. The “Challenge" clip (N.Z ) sold at from 22Jd to 19d a pound.
