HOOLEY RECEIVED INTO CATHOLIC CHURCH.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 12, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 11. Timothy Ilooley has been received into the Catholic Church. There is a piquancy in connection with the news as at the height of his success Hooley presented to St Paul’s Cathedral a £3OOO set of gold plate, which was handed to his creditors, when Hooley became bankrupt. Hooley was imprisoned for fraud in connection with company promotion, the case exciting wide interest at the time as very large sums were concerned.
