WEDDING.
HALL—DOYLE. The wedding was solemnised of Edith Sarah, third daughter of Mrs W. Doyle, Marton, and granddaughter of the "late Mr John Doyle, to James Leslie Edgar, elder son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Hall, Christchurch, at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ashburton. The Rev A. G. Irvine conducted the ceremony, and Mr Wood, a friend of the bride, was organist. The bride, who was given away by her'uncle, Mr John Doyle, wore a model frock of pink georgette and Parisienne lace with touches of gold. The frock was slightly pouched and had long shaped sleeves. A pretty hand-embroidered veil in the same shade as her frock was held in place with a circlet of orange blossoms and gd>ld leaves. Her shoes were of gold brocade. Phe carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums, winter roses and maidenhair fern. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Ngaio Hall, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Berta Croy, of Chertsey. The former More maize crepe de chine with gold insertion and bishop sleeves of geor* gette in thej same shade, while the latter chose mauve crepe de chine with gold embroideries, and a large tulle bow at the low waistline. Each wore tulle bandeaux, and carried a bouquet to match her frock Misses Doris and Elsie Oakley, as flower girls, were dressed alike in deep cream crepe de chine with large bows of the same shade on their hair, and carried Victorian posies of pastel shades. Mr Jack Oddie, Christchurch, was best man, and Mr J. Milner, Christchurch, groomsman. At the reception held later at Sutherland's tea rooms, Mrs J. Grierson.; aunt of the bride, was attired in a very becoming frock of black French silk marocain with touches of black and white, and black satin hat to match. A black marabout completed her toilet. Her bouquet was of violets and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's mother wore a smart costume in dark rosewood, check skirt, a plain coat relieved with check, and hat of velour in the same shade. Her bouquet was of violets.
When leaving on her wedding: trip the bride chose a fawn repp frock, inset panels of pleats in front and embroideries in the same colour. Over this was a fuchsia velour coat with pleats at either side, brown fur cuffs and collar. Her hat was of fawn duvertyn to tone with her frock.
