PAGE’S ROAD MAY BE MADE OF BITUMEN.

Last night a conference of delegates from the Christchurch City Council, Christchurch Tramway Board, Heathcote County Council and New Brighton Borough Council was held to discuss a proposal to lay down a section, of Page’s Road in bitumen. The conference took the form of a round-the-table talk, and was taken in . committee. A “Star” reporter was informed today that the meeting had decided to recommend to the bodies concerned that the road be laid down in bitumen. The recommendation will now have to go before the local authorities concerned.
