YOUR MOST BECOMING COLOURS.

For the girl with auburn hair and an average complexion. The woman with auburn hair has al ways been a romantic figure. Poets have sung of her; painters have, used her and immortalised her on their canvases; and no doubt she has been an inspiration for many a song. And. indeed, faultlessly- gowned in lines that suit her figure and in colours that harmonise with her own colouring, she is a lovely picture. Think of y-our red-haired type, for instance, clad for the street in a modish winter suit of medium grccn-blue with a soft collar of silvery fur and a smart little black hat! Such a costume would set off to advantage her auburn hair, blend perfectly with her complexion, and, in short, make her a most enchanting Her full list of street colours are as follows: Good: Marine blue, dark violet-red, medium grecn-hkie, burnt russet. The marine blue, which is very- dark, almost black colour, and the dark vio-let-red, which is about a burgundy shade, arc for blue-eyed women. As the proud possessor of such love ly colouring she will naturally be anxious to keep away from all shade that will detract from her own tones All the colours given under this head ing arc principally to be avoided because of her hair. Her complexion, be ing neither too vivid nor too pale, offers little colour difficulties. Avoid: Red, deep pink or rose, pure yellow, tan. Bear in mind that, in speaking of an average complexion, I refer not only to the colour of the cheeks, but also to the actual tones of the skin. A woman has either a vivid complexion, which includes bright cheeks and a tarnish cast: an average complexion, when her cheeks are medium in colouration and her skin not pure white: or a pale complexion, which means little colour in the checks and a pure or milk-white skin. To-day’s type, with average complexion, may wear grry, all black, or cream white without hurting her col ouring.
