GLOOMY WEATHER CONTINUES TO-DAY.

Downpours such as that which soaked the city yesterday, seldom last for more than twelve hours. A wet night, followed by a threatening, gloomy day is unusual. This morning broke cold and wet, although there seemed a slight prospect of a clearance as the morning progressed. But though no rain fell, at middav the sky was as dark as ever, without a gleam of sunlight. The shortest day was further shortened by the gloomy weather.
