“A MAN FOUR SQUARE” HEADS NEW BILL AT QUEEN’S THEATRE.

For those who like thrills and adventure. the programme at the Queen’s Theatre this week will provide an entertainment that will meet with their approval. At the head of the bill is a Western story, “ A Man Four Square.” Along with this is a spectacular story of a South Seas isle bearing the title “ Typhoon Love.” With each successive picture, the popularity of Buck Jones, the popular star for the William Fox firm, increases. As well as being a capable horseman he is an actor of no mean ability. His part in “ A Man Four Square ” is one which requires a great deal of athletic skjll as well as a good seat in the saddle. Both of these requirements are filled to the letter. In his latest production Buck Jones is seen as a man from the West who has received a great deal of money and who sets out to lead a high life. He certainly does this with success, but when a call for help comes from his former friends of the ranches he sees through the artificiality of his newly found city friends and returns to the plains, there to become involved in a vendetta between two sections of the cattlemen. The trouble has arisen over the work of .cattle rustlers, who

have- been stealing large numbers of cattle nightly, and an Innocent man is sent to gaol on a charge of complicity. Then follow fights galore—individual combats as well as affrays between tlie two sections of the community. The hero is accused of crime, is cleared and is elected sheriff. He rescues a pretty girl from death on more than one occasion and performs many deeds of daring. Playing opposite Buck Jones is Florence Gilbert, who for a time was associated with Mary Pickford in picture production. Since then she has progressed to stardom, and has become one of the leading artists of the screen as far as Western films go. She is certainly charming and her ahtletic prowess is of no mean ordex*. The picture has been well produced. The latest film dealing with the Pacific is “ Typhoon Love,” which deals with the adventures of two young men on Opal Island, the name being derived from a large opal mine. On an adjoining island lives a man who is out to defeat the purpose of the young pros<pectors, and for a. time they have to meet all manner of obstruction and difficulties. These are ultimately overcome and the villainous party meet with their just rewards. The spectacular side of the film has not been neglected.
